Feminizing Rhinoplasty
Feminizing Rhinoplasty is a key Facial Feminization Surgery procedure as the nose is part of the central focus of the face. Standard Rhinoplasty techniques can be used to change the contour of the nose to make it appear more feminine. The goal is to make it smaller, including the cartilage and the bone structure, and more refined.
It's also important to reduce the width of what is referred to as the lower lateral cartilages, which make up the contour, shape and projection of the tip of the nose. The upper lateral cartilages are also reduced to match the new contour to the lower tip of your nose.
Finally, the bony nasal vault usually needs to be fractured in order to make this structure smaller and proportional to the changes that were made to both the tip and middle part of the nose.
Feminizing Rhinoplasty is a procedure that most average plastic surgeons have difficulty with.
"One of the challenges [of Rhinoplasty] is that you have to break the bones and hope that they will heal in the right position, says Dr. Michelle Lee. "It's the most unpredictable plastic surgery around, every millimetre is gonna make a difference."
"I love love love my new nose. I've been in this industry a long time and we've all seen a lot of bad nose jobs and you can tell it's a good one because you can't tell I had one. Before, my nose was wider, less refined, less feminine and now my nose is streamlined, I have a tip finally and it's much more feminine. Everything's changed: the way people approach me, the way people look at me. I'm presenting to the world how I feel on the inside and that's amazing."

Feminizing Rhinoplasty is usually completed under general anaesthesia and rarely requires a night in the hospital. Complete recovery takes ten to twelve days.
When choosing a Rhinoplasty surgeon, it's important to find one who has ample experience performing the procedure for trans women.
